Kids can start at age 4 in our Tiny Titans program (ages 4 to 7). From there, students move into Guardian Kids (ages 8 to 12) and Gladiators (ages 13 and up). Each program has its own curriculum, class length, and coaching ratio built for that stage of development.
Membership runs in the upper $100s to low $200s a month, depending on the commitment level you choose. Every membership includes two classes per week, up to three coaches on the floor, and the first uniform. Multi-family discounts are available, and the first class is free. We walk each family through the options in person after the free class.
Yes. Every new family starts with one free trial class. There is no risk, no pressure, and no commitment. Your child joins a real class, gets a starter goodie bag, and finishes with a white-belt earning ceremony. You'll get an email confirmation and text reminders after booking.
Comfortable workout clothes, like shorts and a t-shirt, are perfect. Once your child enrolls, the first uniform is included with the enrollment package. Replacement uniforms and sparring gear are available in our Pro Shop.
Every program meets twice per week, and the two classes can be any two slots in your child's age group. Monday and Wednesday one week, Tuesday and Saturday the next. There is no fixed weekly slot to lock into, which keeps training consistent without straining a busy family calendar.
No, and that's deliberate. Kids train in age-appropriate classes and adults train in adult programs, because a 6-year-old and a 40-year-old need different pacing, intensity, and curriculum. Families can absolutely train at the same school and even attend on the same evenings. Belt ceremonies are shared family moments.
Our core kids and teen programs blend traditional martial arts with striking, practical self-defense, and leadership training, delivered through a quarterly character curriculum. We also offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu led by Coach Curtis, a law enforcement officer and BJJ leader.
Tiny Titans holds a strict 6:1 student-to-coach ratio, and Guardian Kids holds 10:1, with up to three trained coaches on the floor in every kids class. No child gets lost in the crowd.
Many parents come to us for exactly this reason. Our classes are structured, predictable, and broken into short, active segments, which is an environment where kids who struggle to sit still often thrive. Small ratios mean a coach notices when a child drifts and pulls them back in with encouragement rather than embarrassment.
Testing happens quarterly and is by invitation, once a student has earned all required stripes in class. Belt promotions are family events where parents, grandparents, and siblings celebrate together.
Years, and that's the honest answer. Belts at Family First are earned through demonstrated skill and character, never handed out on a payment schedule. Students who reach the level of black belt candidacy enter a dedicated year-long Black Belt Testing Journey with additional Saturday training, leadership development, and a final exam weekend.
Yes. Cancellation notice depends on the membership option you choose, and the terms are given to you in writing before you sign anything. Holds are available with manager approval. Every request is handled with kindness.
